Hello to all of you, lovelies! Thanks so much for stopping by. Now that you are here, I feel like we should get to know one another, so I'll go first.

 

My name is Britt Lawler. I was born and raised in Illinois. As the daughter of people who encouraged creativity, I grew up in an environment that sparked my imagination and deep love of literature.

 

I was raised on a steady diet of fruit snacks and fairytales. And I bought right into it. I lived vicariously through characters from lands near and far. I acted out epic battles. I went on countless magical adventures and experienced the power of true love, all while defeating evil and saving the day. Growing up in two different but equally essential worlds allowed me to pursue excitement and passion from the safety of my room. But I didn't stop there. I educated myself on the tangible world around me -- people, politics, and the environment.

 

After graduating high school, I attended Benedictine University, where I majored in Publishing and Literature. Following my studies at Benedictine, I moved to Chicago to attend DePaul University, where I earned a graduate degree in Journalism. I have always loved exploring new cities, but no matter where I go, Chicago will always have a special place in my heart. I fell in love with the city's immense diversity of people and cultures. 

 

After years of reading and recommending dozens of books to my family and friends, I created a blog to share my thoughts. I love literature (everything from the classics to good old chick-lit), so I wanted to start a discussion with like-minded people.

 

I want to write a novel that sparks a conversation of love, passion, adventure, social commentary, and the human condition. These are the stories that have inspired me. With that in mind, I have surrounded myself with the words of those who encouraged me to be creative. I live in a beautiful apartment, constantly overflowing with books.
